Thru the Wire" Joins Stellar Lineup at Rooftop Films' URL IRL Program

Brooklyn, NY – June Films is thrilled to announce that "Thru the Wire," directed by Bocau, has been selected for Rooftop Films' prestigious URL IRL: Tales from the Timeline program. The film will screen alongside an exceptional roster of contemporary filmmakers exploring the intersection of digital life and human connection.

"Thru the Wire" offers an authentic portrait of teenage life in contemporary Vietnam, following a chronically online gamer who takes a leap of faith to meet her virtual best friend in person. When online chemistry meets offline reality, both friends discover that some connections don't translate across the digital divide.

The film joins an impressive lineup of works that interrogate our relationship with technology:

  • "Christmas, Every Day" by Faye Tsakas

  • "I'm Really Scared I'm Dying TBH" by Lindsay Calleran

  • "RAT!" by Neal Suresh Mulani

  • "The Reality of Hope" by Joe Hunting

This carefully curated program brings together established and emerging voices in contemporary cinema, each offering a unique perspective on how technology shapes our relationships, identities, and understanding of reality in an increasingly online world.
